TAAN organises Lhosar Dinner Ball

TAAN organises Lhosar Dinner Ball Trekking Agencies Assocaition of Nepal (TAAN) organised a fun-filled entertainment programme – Lhosar Dinner ball 2010 – at Hotel Yak & Yeti on February 17 to celebrate Lhosar, the New Year Festival of different ethnic groups living across the country.
Before the programme began, guests were accorded warm welcome by Sherpa girls clad in traditional attire by offering Khada or the ceremonial scarf. Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation Satrughan Singh Koiri was the chief guest of the programme. The programme was attended by government officials, industry leaders, travel trade people, past presidents of TAAN and TAAN executive members among others. Industry people were seen extending best wishes of Lhosar to their friends and family members.
Traditional Sherpa dance, musical extravaganza, songs by popular artistes, DJ session and comdey show by 'Tito Satya' group were the major attraction of the event.
TAAN also conducted lucky draw for door prizes on the same day. International Trekkers won return ticket on Kathmandu-North America sector for one as the first prize, while Himalayan Guides Nepal Trekking won return ticket on Kathmandu-London sector for one as the second prize. The third prize -- return ticket on Kathmand-Bangkok sector -- was bagged by All Nepal Trekking. Other consolation prizes were also distributed as door prizes.
TAAN has been organizing the event every year to extend wishes of Lhosar Festival.
